Service Technician

Job Description

Who we are

K.B. Combustion was formed in Dublin in 1975 and since that time we have established ourselves as a successful business supplying, installing, and servicing combustion equipment and boiler process plant. Today's business is responsible for maintaining equipment in many of Ireland's premier business and institutional organisations.

We have had the satisfaction of serving some clients for over 45 years which is a testament to the consistent quality and good service provided by KB Combustion Ltd. Our tailored service contracts can cover everything from basic burner servicing to total plant maintenance.

About the Role

Boiler maintenance is imperative for both safety and operational capacity/efficiency of our clients. The service technician is responsible for the safe installation, repair and maintenance of combustion equipment. This will include equipment inspections, testing, troubleshooting, refurbishments, upgrades and new installations in line with ISO 9002 standards and client specifications.

Our priorities include:

Compliance- Most insurance companies will make it mandatory for boilers to receive regular maintenance in accordance with industry standards. Having a certified and competent maintenance service provider will allay any concerns around potential boiler risk for our clients.

Safety- A poorly maintained boiler presents a risk to staff/personnel and also the premises the boiler is located in. An accident related to a malfunctioning boiler could have serious consequences for our clients, regular maintenance is needed to diagnose and repair problems before they affect safety.

Efficiency – With the current climate for energy costs it is important to keep our clients’ equipment running efficiently. Boilers consume large amounts of fuel so if operating inefficiently in can greatly increase your energy costs. Regular maintenance is needed in order to keep a complex system like a boiler firing correctly thus ensuring energy costs are kept to a minimum.

Cost Effectiveness- Many of the previous points are connected by their impact on costs. For a business to have to manage boiler failure, increased insurance premiums, accidents, or inefficient function means that they are incurring large costs that could be easily avoided by availing of regular boiler maintenance.
