R&D Engineer

R & D Engineer is a mission critical Role for the success of Remedy Biologics. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this Role will execute plans both independently and collaboratively as part of the engineering and science group. The R & D Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, technology platform projects in mechanical, electronic, surface, optical, laser, and process engineering with attendant data analysis, planning, reporting, design and manufacture. The successful candidate will be a smart, creative, flexible thinker who is willing to tackle new challenges that may be outside a narrowly defined engineering sub-specialty. Role requirements include:

  1. Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or other related engineering specialization.

  2. Previous experience in a similar role and industry.

  3. Basic understanding of cell biology.

  4. Demonstrable ability to self-motivate and work independently, as well as collaboratively, to accomplish business endpoints.

  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  6. Strong numerical skills

  7. Excellent analytical skills.

  8. A desire to create-develop-test-iterate solutions to difficult problems.

  9. Proficiency with LabView, SolidWorks, MS Office, and other basic software applications.


The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be varied and will change as the business grows and as the successful candidate advances. Initial responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  1. Design, prototype, verify and validate components for a large and complex platform and workflow.

  2. Report plans and results to colleagues and senior executives.

  3. Become compliant with and drive compliance of all health and safety requirements.

  4. Work independently and as part of the Engineering team on day-to-day lab activities including upkeep of facilities and equipment.

  5. Participate in and be prepared for all engineering group meetings.

  6. Use statistical methods to characterize overall platform and platform component performance.

  7. Procure equipment/ fixtures as may be needed to accomplish company goals.

  8. Calibrate, maintain and improve relevant equipment.

  9. 3D print platform and process components.

  10. Contribute to technical documentation drafting, editing, and versioning of technical specifications and Standard Operating Procedures
