About Us

The Edmund Rice Schools Trust is the trustee of 96 schools, both primary and secondary, in the Republic of Ireland. The role of the Trust is to support our schools and their students, teachers, principals and voluntary boards of management, members, directors and staff in line with the values of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust Charter.

Chief Executive

We are currently seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive, as a result of the retirement of the current postholder. Secondment will be considered for the right candidate, as per department guidelines. While the role will be hybrid, requiring some travel, it is predominately Dublin based.

As Chief Executive, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and effective governance support across the Edmund Rice Schools Trust network. Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive will ensure that the Trust fulfils its mission and responsibilities as trustee of a national network of schools and educational initiatives inspired by the vision and tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Strong strategic leadership capability and organisational management experience.

• A deep appreciation of the mission, ethos, and educational tradition of Edmund Rice schools.

• Significant experience engaging with senior stakeholders across education, public bodies, and faith-based organisations.

• Proven experience in governance, financial oversight, and organisational leadership.

• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
