Role Overview

Irish Sailing wishes to recruit an Accounts Manager to join its team.  Reporting to the CEO, the role will be based in our Dun Laoghaire office with the option for hybrid working. The role will manage the financial operations of Irish Sailing.


Responsibilities

  • Perform the day-to-day processing of financial transactions to ensure Irish Sailing operations in both High Performance and Core, are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner in line with financial policies and procedures.

  • Collate, monitor and analyse financial information and prepare financial statements including monthly and annual management accounts in line with accounting standards.

  • Invoicing and collection of affiliated club income and product sales for a range of products and services.

  • Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations (credit cards) to trial balances.

  • Prepare the monthly payroll and maintain payroll-related accounting (pensions, expenses etc.)

  • Prepare and submit all Revenue, CRO & CSO reporting.

  • Manage debtors, creditors, cash and maintain asset and contract registers.

  • Manage and support budgets, monthly management accounts versus budget, cashflow and forecast activities.

  • Maintain relationships with all relevant third parties - banks, debtors, creditors, brokers, advisors, IT suppliers, Sport Ireland, Affiliate Club Treasurers, auditors etc.

  • Preparation and management of the annual audit. 

  • Preparation of Sport Ireland financial grant applications, reports and endure spending is allocated correctly.

  • Document all Irish Sailing accounting and financial processes and procedures and identify process / system efficiencies using internal and external resources.

  • Support the CEO, Finance Committee and the wider team on all financial matters including management information, monthly reports and general queries.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, accounting operations and controls.

  • Accounting Technician Qualified or Accountant qualified an advantage but not essential.

  • Experienced in Sage Accounts & Payroll, Microsoft Office, Bank & Revenue systems with good IT skills.

  • Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

  • Logical thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Location: Irish Sailing’s Head Office location is in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

Role Location: Office / Hybrid mix

Status: Permanent full time or part time

Salary: Commensurate with experience
